ELCHIVO is formed in 2018. The band begins as a side project of Marco Gil, member and founder of Maligno, he wanted to create innovative sounds and forms of rock, stoner and doom. For this task he invites Stefan Berdem, who already plays drums in Maligno. OMG, late to the party but this is some of the best occult infused doom stoner tackle I've ever heard. Reference points include Sabbath (obvs), especially with the Ozzy-esque vocals but there's also the melodiousness of early Heep mixing with a more contemporary occult rock sound. It starts in the 70's and makes it to the present day. The riffs are huge but it's their way with a hook that elevates this from your average doom/stoner fare. Very wonderful indeed!
